Opening event May 9, 2024

On exhibit June 15 through August

Tom Fox has been documenting New York City and its waterfronts in photos for decades. This exhibit accompanies the launch of his book, Creating the Hudson River Park: Environmental and Community Activism, Politics, and Greed detailing how this park came to be. The selected photographs show New Yorkers using Manhattan's West Side waterfront in the 1980's before the Hudson River Park was envisioned.

Tom Fox has been an urban planner and parks advocate specializing in waterfronts and waterborne transportation since at least 1981 when he began as Executive Director of the Neighborhood Open Space Coalition. He was President of the Hudson River Park Conservancy from 1991 to 1995 and was the co-founder and CEO of New York Water Taxi. Fox is a U.S. Navy veteran who served in Vietnam.

After an opening event on May 9th that includes a book signing and reading at the volleyball court on Pier 25, the exhibit returns in June and continues through August.
