To evacuate lower Manhattan on 9/11, tugboats, yachts, fishing boats, ferries and other vessels responded to the Coast Guard’s call for “all available boats” to rescue people. These vessels, crewed by merchant mariners, achieved one of the biggest evacuations by water in history. To commemorate the 20th anniversary of 9/11 and what is now called "The Great Boatlift," a Flotilla and Blessing of the Fleet is being organized on Friday, September 10. You can join in this event by booking passage on one of the participating Classic Harbor Line vessels. 100% of all ticket sales and additional donations made through this link will go to Lilac Preservation Project. The minimum ticket donation is $50 per person. Patrons will also have the opportunity to make an additional donation during the reservation process. All trips are 2 to 2.5 hours. Specific schedules for each vessel, departure locations and other details are available through the link.
